Meeting with a delegation of representatives of the Office of the Coordinator of the UN System, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the United Nations Development Program

The Mine Action Center was honored to host a delegation of representatives from the Office of the Coordinator of the United Nations System, the Howard G. Buffett Foundation and the United Nations Development Program (UNOPS). The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the work of the UANMAC in such key areas as mine action coordination, information management, certification and quality management.

The delegation had the opportunity to get acquainted with general information about the work of the Center, the coordination of mine action operations throughout the territory of Ukraine, as well as to discuss challenges and achievements in this area.

Special attention was paid to the mechanisms of information management, which are used by the UANMAC for the effective collection, processing and distribution of data on territories contaminated by explosive objects. Representatives of the delegation highly appreciated the National Mine Action Information Management System (IMSMA), which helps to optimize the planning and implementation of mine action operations.

During the visit, the delegation also familiarized itself with personnel certification procedures, as well as the quality management system used by the UANMAC to ensure compliance of mine action operations with national standards. These mechanisms are extremely important to guarantee the safety and efficiency of operations.

At the end of the visit, the representatives of the delegation emphasized the importance of international cooperation and coordination of efforts to overcome the consequences of the mine threat and to promote the reconstruction of war-torn territories.
